1968 Pontiac Firebird
Owner: Chuck Bunnell
This car was purchased in 1986. It was found sitting in a yard in Conway with grass growing all around it. The hood was missing. The original Pontiac 400 cid engine was still in it with the heads laying off to the side. The original owners had wrecked it while street racing, and left it sitting in the yard for 15 years. Only minor damage was done to the right front edge of the frame.
It has been customized by building rear qrtr fender flares (made out of metal and welded on), shaved doors and fenders, and painted with House of Colors Pavo Purple paint.
It has had a dozen engines in it over the years, but presently has a Big Block Chevy 498cid engine in it. It's fueled with a tunnel ram and duel Holley carbs. The engine has 11:1 Keith Black pistons, 111cc ported heads, roller rockers, gear drive, and more.
The drivetrain consists of a 400 Turbo B&M transmission with manual valve body & a 4.10 posi rearend.
